2G Looking to get GST side skirts on RS

hey tuners,

i wanted to know what are door caps? i saw a thread that recommended that i needed door caps if i wanted to get gst-gsx skirts. Anyways, another question does all eclipse models have the same rear bumpers? or i have to change to change them out if i want my body to flow good together.

Unless your good at body work you wont be able to do it yourself. true gsx side skirts have pins on the skirt and holes on the outside of the door. Which a rs does not have so you would need to drill all the holes and and use 3m double sided tape. Now with that said yes if you want it to look right you will need a 2gb front and rear bumper. Along with the back up lights and 97 and up headlights. which you might have the headlights but not the back ups. A used set of good side skirts will cost $150+ and the bumpers will run you around $300. Thats just in parts so if you have some one do it your looking at $700 easy not to mention the paint might not match. If you need some skirts tho I have a good set of gsx side skirts up for sale so let me know if your interested because they are not easy to find with all the pins still in place.

There are no GST / GSX Side skirts, they came on non turbo GS models too. You do not need to change your bumpers, you just the need side skirts for the year you have 95-96 or 97-99 the bumpers are all the same for cars that came with or without side skirts. The side skirts are 3 pieces, the door cap is the piece that goes on the lower part of the door. You do have to drill holes in the door to put them on a car that came without them but its not that hard.

Actually IMO a DSM with 2gb front and rear bumpers with 2ga side skirts looks the best. It all flows very well together.

2ga and 2gb eclipse door caps are exactly the same, the side skirts are different. talon door caps and skirts are different than the eclipse's. You might have a set of talon skirts and door caps (not that good looking IMO).

Also you will have to drill the rockers and fenders for the plastic retainers , not just the doors.

2ga GS/GST/GSX came with sideskirts and 2gb GS/GST/GSX came with side skirts why would you have to change bumpers to put on side skirts? 2ga doesn't mean that it doesn't have side skirts, 2ga means that the car is 95-96 and 2gb is 97-99. A 97-99 RS still has 2gb bumpers.

But it has nothing to do with putting side skirts on your car. The op didn't ask about doing a 2gb conversion, his profile says he has a 97 so its already a 2gb. You can Install the the side skirts that match your body style 2ga or b unless you want a different look.

Is it possible to have an early 97 that was ga? Because I have seen 97 base models with ga bumpers That's why I was explaining all that to the op.

All 97 should be 2gb. Being a base model or RS wouldn't mater anyway if some early 97 had 2ga bumpers it would have been all of them base, rs, gs, gst, gsx there were never different bumpers on 2gs based on the trim level.
