Fellow DSM lovers, my car is really pissing me off. Dont get me wrong I love my eclipse, but the stock side skirts on my 95 gst are a shade lighter than the paint on the rest of the car. I have washed, cleaned, waxed, and polished the paint, and used rubbing compound on the paint. But they are still not up to par with the rest of the car, and its the only thing holding my car back from looking brand new. If anyone has had this problem with there eclipse or knows how to fix this problem please let me know. And if no one knows the answer to that is there anyone with a red gst willing to sell there stock side skirts? or at least know a place to get them besides mitsu? Thanks, any info will help.

Hey if you find new ones ill buy urs off you.. name the price... or hell sell them to me and buy ur self some new ones :)

i have a talon so mine SUCK :( bLAH

but anyways what kinda wax you using?

This is a known problem, and has happened before. If I were in your shoes, I would just keep a lookout at local junkyards for some '97-'99 GS, GS-T, or GSX sideskirts. Stick em on your car, and paint them if you can;t find red, and it will look 10x better. :thumb:

I would stop waxing plastic parts. Depending on the type of wax you use it discolors the paint.

Game over is perfectly right, i dnt know what they were thinking with those side skirts for the 95-96Turbos. just get the 97-99 side skirt im actually trying to do the same thing right now for my 95 GS. But junkyard Eclipse's in New York go Fast, especially turbos.

A GS model will do you just fine.

I guess im just gald to hear that its a known problem. Thanks guys, and I guess I will go junkyard diving. That would be cheaper than a repaint. And as far as me selling the ones I have now I would be more than happy to. Just let me get the new ones first. :thumb:

If you read in your owners manual it says not to was plastic parts on the car. This is also a known thing that the paint looks different on plastic parts than it does on the metal body panels.
