not to long ago i got a 1g awd which is a sweet car but i work like 10000000 miles away from home and i'm not down the having to drive it that far all the time so now i'd like to get a 2g NT i've searched ebay autotrader and the ad's here. there are a few i could look at but alot of them have like 130k plus miles and i was just wondering how long will the 420a really last i've seen DSM's with 200+ miles but you never really know.

Basically my ? is how many miles is to many for what i'm looking for.

I had a 98 NT... had 60k when i bought it had it till 83k... never had 1 problem... never broke down once, ran strong everyday, I say they are damn nice cars with reliable engines.

I beat on that thing everyday too... Awesome car to have, very reliable

bout like every car...take care of it and itll run. i bought mine with 99k and now im at 140. my one prob was a timing belt broke and had to have the head rebuilt. this was before i joined the site and found out they should be changed every 60k. so if it has been taken care of and you continue to youll drive her for a while.

My GS is for Sale, has 102,000 lots of mods, check it out on the classifieds here :thumb: , Otherwise to answer ur question, I too have never had a single problem with my car at all, runs like a dream. The only reason why im sellin my car is because I want to buy an off roadin truck  .

10K or 100K miles either way you can buy a lemon. Best bet is to buy a car that has 1 or two owners and has been well maintained. Receipts for all the major stuff. If the car looks clean and the owner looks like he/she knows what a car needs to run well then you are good to go.

You can always go down the other road. Buy a $500 car and when something major happens, buy another one. My friend has been doing that for the last 2 years. He is on car... 4 I believe. Each time one dies, he goes back to the gas station, "trades" in the dead one and drives home in a "new" beater.

Thants exactly what I do too. ^^^
I would never drive my DSM on the salty and icey Michigan roads. So every year I buy another winter beater. I'm on my third one in 2 years ever since I bought this 99 GST. My Chevy Lumina Euro costed me $500, then my Mazda 626 was only $100 (needed a $40 starter), and then my 92 Chevy S10 4X4 was only $200. The mazda and S10 are still running. Best combined $300 I ever spent. :thumb: Just look for something with high mileage that need a little TLC and then baby it. My car and truck each have 260K on the clock and they are surprisingly reliable. Rock on beater cars! :rocks: :rocks: :rocks:
