Well hello!, long time since I've posted my entire car is good to go! Besides the bad piston rings AAHAHAHA so now after I put it all back together and fixed everything else, I have to pull my engine and rebuild the ####er :( so no not this year folks. Hopefully by next year this thing will be gleaming. I've rebuilding the 2.0l I think it's a waste of money to stroke it. Besides I like the redline on the 2.0l then the stroked 2.3l. So what I've done so far is I've gotten a new transfer case, transmission, ball joints and tierods, new front struts, took off the a/c, and beadblasted the crap outta everything! oh and lets not forget the Big 16g ported and clipped turbo I bought for it. Damn engine! why now of all times!

Sorry to hear man. And I agree, keep the 2.0L

Don't get me wrong, I love the extra torque of the 2.3 on a street car, but if I were to build a race engine it would be a high revving 2.0L all the way.

2.3 and 2.4 are nice on the street as you said. That extra torque, quicker spool up. better less peaky broader powerband all good things and properly build 2.3 or 2.4 can be spun pretty high maybe 8500 but you can spin a race 2.0 to 9000 or higher so all depends what you want.

One thing not happy with on my 2.4 was there was at the time no kevlar timing belt for it.
Maybe they have them now. I do like the extra insurance.

I am going the 2.0 route on my 91 race car but it is a pure race car so don't care about low end or spool up or powerband. Just rev it to the moon ,well when do the built 2.0 and
have some fun with it.

If you want a stock rebuilt engine complete in a decent car which you could part out for a lot of money back then have one for sale currently. If you are doing a built engine well can't help there.

I'm going to school for auto tech so I'll be doing the rebuild myself. I pulled my engine last night, and I'm gunna start cleaning up the engine bay and take out my abs. I do need to front brake lines though if anyone has an idea where to get them?

Buy straight lines and bend em yourself. Thats all I did. I jus did it about 2 months ago when i took my abs out. And with the auto tech schooling, if your taking the pre-employment course at siast in moose jaw and they do it the same as last year, you will be doin engines around February/march. You can take your own engine in and rebuild it. You just hafta buy parts through them tho i believe.(tell them what you want and they order it in).

Guys might fix my 91 fwd auto turbo with dud trans. Anyone got an autotrans for sale. Might buy whole car if the price is right. Also looking for 4 bolt rear end. Not sure if they are same from auto and manual 1gs? Thought heard they are different. Again might buy entire parts car to ge the 4 bolt. Manual steering rack is another thing looking for.

there is a guy in saskatoon that is parting out a '92 wrecked Talon he got off SGI Salvage. he's got a 4 bolt rear end and probably a steering column. look it up on kijiji saskatoon

gentlemen i got a 6 bolt engine minus the flywheel to go to a good home.....LOL only kicker is you have to come out to rouleau to get it..........

240'000 km on the bad boy and she smokes a little........ it is a turbo block and head everything is there, except flywheel clutch and starter, turbo and everything else....... if anyone wants it let me know i'll give you the directions

someone must want a good 6 bolt block and head

haha I would but I've already got two that aren't running and they are...well lets say...very frustrating

Well guys going to be taking my 91 auto race talon project to SIR on sunday .Hopefully weather is good.
I am not trying to set the world on fire this time but intend to push that 13g to its maximum and if it dies so be it. Just doing it for fun. I did practice a bit launching it and was able to build good psi just brake torquing it up .Course it pushed thru the crappy old stock brakes. Going to try to use my two step to keep that from happening as much.

Mods this time around are k and n filter, megan 3 inch downpipe no catback or cat.Turbosmart manual boost controller but not sure this will matter with 3 inch open downpipe. Think boost will go way higher 15? 17? Remainder of the current mods is
supra tt fuel pump, adjustable fuel reg, 450 injectors.I am running my dsmlink v2 since didn't want to hit fuel cut and of course needed to use it to dial in the 450s since stock ecu works with the 390 auto 1g injectors which are very borderline even at stock boost. So threw in my 97 talon 450s for some extra headroom.

I think raceweight is going to be around 3000 with the car maybe 2750 and 250 me. If scale is working will weigh car at track. Never raced an auto talon or even run it on gtech type of thing so no idea what the car will do. Think stock auto 13g cars go like 15.5 at maybe 85mph? Hoping to maybe do a mid 14 with maybe 95mph and maybe a 2.0 60ft??? Just running goodyear rsa 17s.

Will be running 94 e10 with think gallon of xylene in there too.

As said this is just a fun trip and to shake down the car a bit. When it comes back next year it should be a hell of a lot faster or will want to know why.

If any of you guys are at the track feel free to come by and say hello. Just look for the 91 talon with the BLACK DEATH rear custom liscence plate.

Oh found out auto 4 bolt and manual 4 bolt are different gearing. So guess want auto 4 bolt if anyone has one for sale. Still looking for working auto trans as well.
Also looking to buy FIC 1150 injectors, upgraded axles or driveshaft, upgraded rad,
and the big front brakes, manual steering also from a 1.8 car.

I think going to have garage clean up . I have 1g block, head, intake, interior etc and some other aftermaket stuff .Anyone interested can come and see the stuff.
91 auto fwd turbo with rebuilt motor is still for sale as well.

Oh, brought 91 race talon to SIR raceway on sunday but racing was cancelled do to rain. Looked not bad when left Regina but got progressively uglier as got closer to Stoon. Waited at track over hour but then around 12:30 they called it . Sucks waste of time and money and really really wanted to see what it would run with the stock turbo mostly out of curiousity.

Next sunday is last track day but longterm forecast is 95% rain that day.Looks like might have to be next year now.:(

I did some two step launches in my driveway when got home and they built boost pretty good ,autos are good for that.

On the way to SIR raceway..shame got rained out!:banghead: Nothing like a 300 mile roadrip for nothing.

Here is a couple pics of my other turbo toy..The twin turbo 408 trans am.
The liscence plate is a bit outdated. Have added 300 direct port nitrous kit and upgrading turbos over winter so max hp potential is 1700 engine hp or so at full boost and full spray. But realistically run around at 1000 to mabye 1200 for dyno bragging rights...Power is not the problem ..traction is..
Shame they never made awd trans ams..

I drive the trans am a fair bit. But not often on friday or saturday nights. Too many crazies out there then. Car is not driven in bad weather and is not a daily driver. Will hit some car shows with it next year and track it a few times. Drive it a lot sunday afternoons, some weeknights and during the day sometimes. It is actually very streetable off boost . A real tiger on boost.

The race talon has stock 13g , supra tt pump, adjustable reg, 450 injectors, k and n filter, megan 3 inch downpipe,no cat or catback and about 400 pounds removed.
Dsmlink for tuning. Turbosmart boost controller. Auto awd.

Next season it will have Forced performance 3065 turbo from my 97 talon. Will be going to FP3052 most likley in th that car. It will have 1150 injectors,Big front mount. Crower 280 cams. Jm fab race manifold. stall converter, shift kit. Possbily head will be done and forged bottom end..Aem boost controler and wideband. race seat and rollbar.

My 97 talon has been parked for a year or so. It has fubared clutch or possibly spun main bearing. Will be fixing it likely over winter.

Hey, im planning on going to saskatoon this sunday for the last street legals. The weather looks like it should be ok. Who else is planning on going?

Well after wasting all that time and money last sunday not sure will be trying again this coming sunday.
Will think wait till closer to sunday and watch the forecast.

So you have a 16g in in your 95 now or you are still on t25? Have you run yours yet?

Is yours auto?

I have an eclipse gsx now. It has a 14b with a 5 speed. I went to the fastest street car shootout, and ran a best of 14.2@96mph. Im pretty sure i can cut that down a bit before I upgrade over winter

I have mildy modded 96z28 that runs that exact time..14.2 at 96 with a 2.0 60ft on et street radials. Runs usually a tenth or so slower when had nittos on the car.

I am thinking my 91 talon race car with its pathetic 13g would run mid 14 to low 15 range but with the weight dropped out and maybe a good brake boost launch on the two step it might do a bit better.

Will see how the weather looks closer to sunday. Maybe still take it up again.

I will start tearing things apart on it soon ,really not into setting any new 13g records time to put some serious hardware in there.
