Ive had a turbo blanket sitting around for a while and recently decided to put it on my 16g when i rebuilt it. I didn't really think twice about installing it but in the back of my mine i wondered if it would ever be detrimental to the turbos function. I've been all over the net looking for a solid answer and it seems that anyone who has one loves it and the guy that says their bad or cause cracks heard it from someone else. That said I am looking for real life experiences, has anyone had any issues with theirs or any solid proof against running them?
On a side note I noticed that every blanket ive seen for the 16g (including mine) doesn't cover the hot side all the way upto the edge where the o2 housing mounts. Is it safe to assume that if there were a crack prone area that would be it ?.. due to different expansion rates of the insulated area vs non insulated areas on the same cast? i may be over thinking it but i cant shake the thought of posts where people wrapped cast fp race manifolds and had them crack for the same reason so i figured i would ask... thanks for any input!
