OK! lets not laugh at this newbie here... im looking for a new turbo, upgrade from a t25 (2g eclipse) and i want it a direct bolt on. im looking at the t28 This turbo here will it work? and what will i need to upgrade in-order to handle this turbo! im only getting a new turbo because my t25 has excessive shaft movement. i just want sumthing that will spool quicker, and possibly alil more power.

As much as respect the ppl at FP and like their stuff I cant help but suggest this turbo due to the price and its performance.

I'd get some injectors and MAFT V2.

Ok DSMSpyder99 i already read that and maybe i didnt explain fully on what i wanted, i know i cannot have a bigger turbo without proper preperations (im not that new) i do not plan on making my car do 13 and under. My problem is that the turbo i have is about to take a $h!t on me and i need a new one soon, however i do not want to upgrade to a 16g or anything like that, i just want a direct replacement but i wouldnt mind having sumthing better that will still work well with my DSM. i have so far.

2g DSM 97 Spyder GS-T
MSD Ignition (Wires and coil)
N1 cat-back Exhaust with testpipe
K&N cone filter
Hard-pipe intake
Lightened Pullys
and headers (i got these free :D )

Ive had all belts replaced, new timing gears, rebuilt trans + motor.

I just need a new turbo, im not looking for more power i will get another t25 but i was just wondering if i can use a t28 with my set-up.

Sorry for not fully explaining, and thanks for your advice but i still need this question fully awnsered.

just get a DP and Fuel Pump and you can boost the T28 up to 15-16 PSI depending on what fuel you use. Port your o2 housing and ditch the "headers" (I-4 only have 1 so it would be single "header". Further more, turbocharged cars have manifolds not a HEADER) and port your 2G manifold housing. Make sure the turbo is port also.

Umm it's not a v8 timing gears don't wear out.

You increased airflow in and out of the engine and increased spark. You have everything to take advantage of a larger turbo less injectors, fuel pump, regulator and something "tunable" like maft V2...

If you buy a stock sized turbo with (if its real) that parts list you are mental.

OK WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST! what turbo should i get then! i want what will work with my setup. and if u do recomend a different turbo what do i need to use it, my budget is $1,100
(what size injectors, fuel pump, intercooling etc.) and thanks yet again.

Based on my searches here I'd get the EVO 16g, even though you need a $200 adapter kit.

EVO 16G - 550
install kit - 200
190lph - 100
port mani - 80
port o2 - 75
UICP - 150
mbc - 50
boost gauge - 50
EGT - 150

My suggestion

Substitute this for the 16g and kit

T04B 54mm compressor 48lbs/min. With install kit $750 shipped

same total alot more power and no boost creep problems due to the better gate on the bullseye housing.

you should read his orginal post. More specifically the last sentence :dsm:

Why is it a joke and a waste of money?

T-25/T-28 It's the same compressor housing bored out.

IMHO Get the bullseye.. Same turbine housing design all the holset nuts around here are running.

ya but i need to get a new BOV correct? and i should get a boost control gauge. id be looking at alot of $$ there.

I highly recommend the BIG28 for a 2g upgrade.

Honestly you don't need anything aftermarket to run the turbo, but to get the most out of it you'll want an intake, hard UIP, new BOV (1g is fine), and better exhaust. To really have fun with it you'll want a 190 lph fuel pump, and an MBC. A boost gauge is a given, as it should be your first mod before anything else.

K&N FIPK - 100
Dave Brode UIP - 65
1g BOV - 30
MBC - 40
Boost Gauge - 50
190 LPH fuel pump - 90 (ebay)
Port Ex. manifold and o2 housing - free
Exhaust - ??? (price varies greatly depending on whether you get it made locally, or buy the most expensive titanium thing you can... My exhaust made locally cost me 350 for the whole deal)

That's about $750 total, but if you did all that before the BIG28 you'd already have a 13 second car if you're awd... or at least damn close if you're a bad driver.
