looking for 16G. What you think of this one?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

It's still ssautochrome, and they only the sell the e16g "GT" as far as I know.

Basically if it's not made by MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries), it's not worth the small price difference. Slow Boy Racing has a page that shows the inferior quality of the rippoff e16g "GT" .

I would just go with the real thing, it's a much better deal in the long run.

If it was a true legitament E316G, then it would have the TDO5H compressor housing and have "TDO5H" printed on the outside of it. That is not pictured at all in the add and on top of that, the company selling it is SSAutochrome. They have a terrible reputation for any of their products for DSM's. I would look into buying a true E316G from a reputable shop that sells reliable products. There is no warranty over ebay and nothing you can do if it doesn't work, breaks on you, doesn't fit right, etc... I would stick with either reputable shops or trusted members from the classifieds. :thumb: They say the turbo is built by Stone Racing, but have you ever heard of them and if their turbo's are reliable at all?

yeah you guys are totally right about it. im going to go get a real mitsu g16 from a local shop here. very reputable shop. but that means i need to either get them to build me an install kit or buy one.... but all that said .... looking for install kits on ebay kinda scares me now because of quality porblems. also i talked to the shop where i will purchase the turbo . they gave me 3 choices 1) small 16g for 625, 2) big 16g for 650 and 3) evo 16g for 675..... im thinking the evo is the best way to go. the main differences between the evo and the big 16 is the spool time correct? also I asked about boost creep on the evo and he told me he can put a bigger flapper on it and it wont get it... is this true? im ready to go purchase this but need to know which direction to go. thanks for the help guys :)

that turbo looks nice and brand new.. if you can win the bid around $300 that would be an awesome deal because normally those evo 16g's sell around $500usd. But yea good luck with the turbo.. i personally love the evo 16g backs a punch.

Well holy shit, I guess I missed the memo years ago about judging the quality of a product by it's looks.

Prove to me that the turbo in the above linked auction is an MHI turbo and then I'll start listening to you.

im thinking this is the way im going to go. How is it for streetability? also any problems with boost creep? what other mods do u have.... i plan to run stock boost for the time being on the evo until i can afford more mods.... What do i "HAVE" to do not to wreck my motor when i put this bad boy in? use the old waste gate actuator so it opens at lower pressure?

Those prices that you quoted are outrageous. There are many online vendors that sell them for atleast $100 cheaper and can have it shipped to your door. Be smart and shop around.
