im looking at buying this car. the guy is selling it to pay off his credit cards. he says his bone stock (so no 16g) and it used to be his moms car. doesnt know when the clutch has been replaced or when any thing has been done with the exception of what is listed. also has a lot of cigarette burns and will most likely smell of smoke to me(non-smoker).

this could be my first dsm. i know a little bit about them because of my friends first 2 91 awd talons. i havent driven this yet but i am going to tomorrow afternoon and will post more information then. what else should i be looking for when i drive it?

what do you guys think would be a fair starting offer?

$3000 I'd say but many label me as a lowballer, so idk. But if I were you get something stock and start working on it by yourself from intake to a 11 sec timeslips you'd enjoy it so much more...anyone will prob tell you that.

a 91 is worth according to the blue book, in EXCELLENT CONDITION a TSi AWD is worth $2300..I wouldn't buy this vehicle for more than $2700. a 91 is almost 14 years-old now.

I wouldn't bother with it period. Too much work done...he modded it so who knows how that all went. He's asking a lot too...

Look around more, you can find a better deal than that.

I bought mine (1992 AWD TSI with 125k miles) for $2500. If it has problems or needs work, take that off the price because its still gonna take money, it is essentially your call though. MAKE SURE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE PROPERLY! my vehicle had a stock timing belt (yes 125k and an unchanged timing belt) that almost snapped when I took it to the track (i got lucky and it only slipped a notch). If you are not a mechanic have one look at this car before you buy it.
