ok guys I have been gone for a long time. Sold my 12 second 92 awd talon about a year ago. Now I am looking at a 91 awd talon. This car is a rolling chassis. I haven't gone and looked at it yet but it has an awd manual trans, no seats, no engine, not sure what else. What do I need to ask if it has so this project doesn't cost me $10,000 to get it running right, and what should I look for when I look at it?

I picked up a 90 awd talon for $650. It wasnt running or put together but it was all there. If the car is missing that many vital parts than do like thegchild04 said dont give him more than $100.

He is asking $1000 I think because he has an engine that he was going to put into it that he is selling with it. Don't know if I want the engine though, I will have to find out more on it. I will make sure I wont spend more then a couple hundred bucks with all the stuff missing. But what else should I look for? Any suggestions?

Make sure the frame is straight and the car has never been hit.

1000 seems like a lot if it doesnt come with the motor. If it does come with the motor make sure it's workable. You don't want to buy it, take it home, and then find out the t-belt broke and the valves smacked the pistons.

If the motor is good and passes a leak down and the trans is ok, then 1000 doesn't seem too bad. A little TLC should do the trick.

Good luck with your new project.

It's too bad I live on the other side of the U.S. I have a 91 awd talon rolling car, seats, driveshaft wheels, rear limited slip diff, etc. $400, all it needs is motor and tranny. Oh all four axles and wiring harness, and I can't gte rid of it:confused:

WOW if i had a trailer i would come pick it up, then i can start my project car.

If you get a trailer, let me know, and if I can't get rid of it I will be parting whats left of it out... and how can I post a car on the classified page, I still can't figure it out.

Just wait till the "New Member" under your name says "Proven Member". Then you can post. Until then, just read, contribute, be respectful, and you'll get there.

I found out this car has no engine, trans, radiator, or front seats. The body looks good. Should I pursue this car? If so what's a good offer for it? Good place to buy an engine/trans combo? All that good stuff. I am going to be looking for a car that is in running condition but might go after this one if I can't find anything in my price range out here.
