Lithium batteries

Every post you make is convincing me to go with a small lithium battery (well, smaller than my yellow top). Thanks for the update!

Intersting that I stumble across this. I've been looking into the Lithium batteries for a weight savings on my 14B car. 10lbs savings over a pc680 is a big drop. Looks like I have more options than the Lithium pro batteries.

I tried the shorai lithium in my track car and a friend has it in his bmw. Mine got cooked right away his lasted a few months. The consunsus on the forum is the alternator amps were too high as the battery was designed for motorcycles and thats why we cooked the batteries. So while it seems like a great idea, beaware. Now I know my friends who race miatas use lawn mower tiny batteries with no issues. I think one guy has a wheel chair battery. So small batteries are out there, this just dont have the reserve. If you dig into other forums there are guys working on electronics ( steps downs ) of the amps so they can run the shorai.

Shorai uses those annoying lead equivalent ratings. I wouldn't use less than an LFX36 in a car.

A friend uses two Ballistic 16 cells in his Evo @ 3.5lbs each. Still half the weight of a PC680.
