Stroking the 4G63 with a 100mm stroke crankshaft increases the piston speed. Which some people think it is then not reliable. But the piston speed on a 2.3 is exactly the same as a 2.4. So you weren't talking about the 2.4 and were talking about the 2.3l. So please inform me to why the 2.3 or any stroker is unreliable.

This is like watching an accident happen. This is just not realistic if you ask me unless you won the lottery and have 10k to burn its just not going to turn out the way you hoped it would. You dont need all those fancy parts to go fast its how everything works together and the tune of the motor thats going to make the power. You will never get the low end torque out of our motors like a V8 unless you put spray on it and run something like a 30 trim but you will still have to rev the motor to 8k on a lauch to get it going. Look at sheps vids he has one on there I think he ran with no spray and the motor just fell on its face in first even on a 8k launch.
Putting a motor together is not that easy unless you have expereance with the motor and parts you are installing.
What is this using a stock head gasket on a 600 HP+ motor?? Yes guys have run it but not for that long.
If you know your parts like you say you do the ask will I use them for there purpase probably not unless your hitting 10k and its a track only car then fine but I would build a reliable motor that I dont have to worry about than a motor that will last 10k before you need to rebuild it.
Look into doing alot more work to the head like springs cams 1mm valves and a good port job a stock head just wont cut it.
Like another guy said if you want a motor that revs like an indy car then get a bike.

Anyway the message i conjured up from the posts in this thread, it wouldn't be a good idea at all to build a fast reving motor. I was't thinking the fact of the motor spinning up fast and not spooling up the turbo but after watching sheps video's, it it pretty evident that this is true. I'll probably end up going scat rods and mahle pistons insead, without the butcher crank or maybe even a stock motor with arp everything and see how far it will take me but all-in-all I would say this was a very productive thread and if anybody should ever start another thread about a lightened ratating assembly they should be linked to this one.

O yeah. about the unreliability of the stroker motor you can talk to martin a t rx4speed about that, I got my information from him he has one.
