The other day I was trying to fix my fog lights so that they would work, and not only was I unsuccessful at that, but when I popped my 40amp fuse back in for the rest of the lights (corner, dash, HVAC, headlights, and tail lights) all come on and stay on, while the car is off and there is no key in the ignition. Anyone have any ideas? I tried searching for other related posts and many are either unanswered or are just different all together. As for the moment, if I want to use my headlights, I have to pop the 40amp fuse in and take it out when I dont need the lights, quite the PITA. :ohdamn:

Ok let me try and fill you gents in from the beginning: A few months ago, I had no issues at all with the fog lights. I could run them alone or with my headlights with no problems whatsoever. Then one night I was driving to my buddies place and while I was on the Hwy at 10pm, fog lights and low beams on simultainiously, all my lights just cut out. At that point I had to drive the remaining mile to his place and then found my 40amp fuse had blown out. So I borrowed one of his and then started the car and threw my low beams on, no problems, but as soon as I hit the Fog light button, the fuse blew yet again. After further inspection, we had found that for reasons unknown, the red/white wire from the right side horn had melted and become fused with the fog light wire. So after replacing the damaged section of wire, I put a new 40amp fuse in, turned the low beams on with no problems; once I hit the fog light switch, the fuse popped yet again! So I just left it alone until the other day when I thought I would try and inspect it a bit more closely, so I popped the 40amp fuse out, inspected the mess of wires near the passenger side headlight and cleaned up a few bits around it as well, put a new 15amp fuse in for the fogs and then put the 40amp fuse back in, and then the sidemarker and tail lights came on with the light switch on the steering column in the OFF position and NO key in the ignition. I cant figure out what I did to enable the lights so they come on all the time now. It almost seems like I would have had to mess up the connections in such a way that those lights are now wired to a constant 12v wire but I disconnected every wire I toyed with and nothing effected the lights at all. So like I said before, I now have to pop the 40amp fuse in and out whenever I want to use my car at night :(
