Lighting issue..Parking Lights and dash stay on too?

Hey guys...I am having issues with my dsm...its a 99 Gst and every time I
turn on the car, my parking lights and dash stays lit.
I don't know if 1999 ones have this feature.

I owned a 97 and it never did this.


What I tried;

I thought maybe the aftermarket guages were the installed incorrectly by previous owner, so
I disconnected and corrected that hack job and still no change.

I am going to look at the fuses/relays.

Any ideas, from personal experience, information, etc, will be
greatly appreciated.

I have seen this a few times it always ends up being melted wiring in the harness that runs from the inside fuse panel to the underhood fuse panel.

I believe the only fuse is under the hood and it is called "tail lights" or something of the sort.

I'm thinking TurboAnything is right on the money though.

Ok I'm going to see if I can try to find anything funky...

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I'm having the same problem with my 1992 talon also.

what wire is it that's melted, i unplugged my headlight switch and the parking lights are still on.
