I know what lifters tapping sound like, but this is a new one to me. On the right side exhaust area of the head, there is a noise that sounds like gears grinding really fast at around 1500 to 2000 RPM's. It sounds like something is wanting to jump out of the valve cover. I just recently replaced 2 intake valves when i bought the car. It was sitting for over 2 years. I have fresh Castrol GTX oil in it and the oil pressure is low according to the dash gauge. No Oil light though.

pulll the valve cover off and crank the motor manualy and watch the components in the head to see if anything looks out of the ordinary...

everything looked fine. The sound goes away after 2000+ RPM's. I figure i would replace the lifters when i get paid again....1 month from now. I did a pressure test earlier and found a leak on the IC and fixed it, but after fixing that, i heard a bubbling sound in the head when i pressurized the system again. I was only putting around 10psi in the system. What would cause that?

I almost have the same problem. it will tap until the engine is warmed up and then no problem. but during winter it revs high as hell and causes the tapping to last longer not sure why but it does

That's OEM lifter for ya. The reason is because the OEM lifters have small holes for the oil to pass through. Especially when cold oil has a hard time passing through those holes. I've heard from numerous shops that it's really not a big deal, but my logic is that if I can hear them, then they're not getting enough oil. Upgrade to the larger 3g lifters.
