Leather Driver Seat Won't stay upright

I have black leather seats in my 99 GST. I was pushing back and something gave and now the seat won't stay up right. Anyone fix this before or know if it's able to be serviced? I tried pushing it all the way forward then back but it don't stay up right and leans back towards the rear seats again.

I've had similar issues with seats and ended up just getting another seat that was working and switching over the cushions.

If something is actually broken, you might have to find a new seat to make it cost effective. If it is just stuck maybe you can get it to free up. Here is a generic picture of what most reclining seat back mechanisms look like. Maybe it can help you get an idea of what you're looking at.

mine did the same thing I ended up just replacing the seat

The drivers seat in my gst was like that when I bought the car. I pulled the seat out and removed the back from the base then removed the cover and cushion. I found that the steel frame had broken inside so I just welded it back together then reassembled the seat. It has been working fine ever since.
