Lean On Decel

Done some searching and can't find the answer.

Is it normal to run lean on decel 17.0+

On my UEGO wideband when I gear down it goes way lean.

Just wondering if this was normal? I'm thinking it is, ### the injectors deadtime is cut right down or shut off correct? But if that is so, why would a car backfire on decel? This is normally caused by running to rich..

Yes. It's normal. The injectors shut off and you just pump air through. I have an LC-1 and it will actually read just straight "free air" sometimes.

Ah ok, thats what I thought. I was pretty sure of this 'till I had a guy, mechanic actually telling me it was normal to run rich on decel cause the injectors would still be pumping fuel through. I'm assuming he got confused on the same note I did at first haha

my LC-1 goes 21.9 when I'm on a decel.

its perfectly normal as the other poster has said.
