Heres the story, I was running a hks evc with my ssauto external wg.Everything was great...I sold the evc and just ran the one hose from the side port to the compressor housing in order to run wg boost till i get a new boost controller.Anyway, everything was good untill I yesterday...Once the wg opened I could hear an exhaust leak..Got it home and did a boost leak test.Right off the bat, at a low psi, air was leaking from the top port.Once I rasied the compressor pressure to above the wg psi, air started PISSING out of the top wg port. Im guessing thats the "exhaust leak" I was hearing. So I tore down the wg and dont get what Im missing. The diaphram is fine as is everything else. What am I missing?
Oh and fyi, this isnt a thread about your opinions on ssauto/tail wgs..Myself and several other people have been running these for years with zero issues...A wg is a pretty simple mechanical device with not a lot of compnents to it which is why I cant figure out whats wrong..Again, please keep your opinions to your self and only respond if you actually have usefyul advice.
Thanks

Dont wastegates have psi rings in them? Maybe you have a low psi pressure ring in there like maybe 7 psi . Why dont you upgrade grade the "simple component" then do a boost leak and check back. Otherwise If that doesnt fix it, I would buy a reliable wastegate. Thats my opinion, I only call it that because its not a "proven" fact.... yet;)
