leaking tranny fluid looks like from speed sensor is that possible

hey there new to this site I have had a dsm for couple years now I recently just bought a new one an spun a rod bearing like a month later so I swapped the motor an now im leaking tranny fluid looks like its coming out of the speedo sensor is that possible ? if not where would it be coming from its all over the speedo sensor an a little poudle right next to it an its a small leak

The speed sensor probably has an o-ring seal that can potentially leak. If the wiring harness got yanked on during the engine replacement it is possible the seal or the sensor itself could have been damaged.

Are you a hundred percent sure it is tranny fluid? I don't mean to ask a stupid question just want to know the basics first

I'm pretty sure when i over filled my trans, fluid came out from the speed sensor. I'd say it is possible but I never looked into it as the leak stopped after im assuming the excess fluid leaked.

yeah its gear fluid an furgot to mention that now my speedometer needle is jumpy as well don't no if that has anything to do with it either

thanks man gunna replace those an hopefully that fixs it cause my buddy did pull on it furgot to disconnect it from the tranny when we were pulling it like I said its a small leak but a leak is a leak u no

I can confirm after changing a speed sensor in mine, it DOES have a o-ring.

Well mine was on a 420a, but I assume the other models transmissions would be similar.
