my brand new pte gt35rls is pouring oil out the ported shroud holes on the compressor housing.the turbo has less than 60 miles on it and has only seen 15 psi...anyone know any reason why this is leaking so soon ? i was thinking the seals for sure, but why would they be bad so soon? possible defective turbo maybe pte did not assembly properly ? what you guys think? anything i should check before i yank this piece off ?

I'm assuming by ported shroud you're referring to the T04S cover, right?

How are you performing the boost leak test? Just trying to get a baseline idea.

yes t04s cover and its not leaking boost....its leaking oil out the small ported holes on the compressor housing...

Whoa, I missed that for some reason, sorry.

Make sure there's no restrictions in the oil lines, and then I'd just call whoever you purchased it from, because "dat dere ain't rite!"

Check all of your oil lines and make sure they arent kinked anywhere. My friend blew his turbo after 20 or so miles because of this same issue. Feed line was kinked bad and he never knew it.

Also, you may have blew out the seals from too much oil pressure. Do you have a restrictor for the turbo?

ya they are no restrictions on any of the oil feed or return lines...they are all ss lines and not kinked at all...

ya i double checked all the lines and none are kinked at all..oil feed and return are all good and brand new...nothing blocking the lines, not twisted, kinked at all...i do have good oil pressure on the motor with the removed balance shafts, but only about 10-12psi over stock ... do you think that blew the seals on the center section ? as far as the restrictor, i think it has it on there, it came with the -4 an oil feed fitting as the restrictor...is that the right restrictor ?

Where are you feeding the turbo oil from?

What size is your oil return line? Make sure that there are no kinks in it and it has a smooth route back into the oil pan.

i am feeding the turbo from the oil filter housing, like i said there are no kinks at all anywhere, in the oil feed or returns they are all routed good...the oil return line is -10an and is not kinked and is routed very straight to the pan...

I just ordered a GT35r internally gated from PTE. My oil feed is from the Oil filter housing. Then are sending me a restrictor to go inline with my SS oil feed line. I have a SCM5031 non ball bearing on there now. No balance shafts. I have much higher Oil pressure, according to my Greddy guage, hopefully I don't run into the same problem.

Did you put a restrictor in your oil feed line?

yes my turbo has a -4an alum custom fitting included by precision with the turbo and it has the restrictor on the inlet side...

just got off the phone with precision turbo, told me to send the turbo back, think its the front seal.they said that it is rare to see the front seals blow on a bb turbo..so i m yanking it off and sending it back..let you guys know exactly what it is when its resolved...
