leaking downpipe, exhaust dilemma...

ok well as the title says i have a leaking downpipe, at the flex section, anyhow, i'm pretty sure i need a new one, however my muffler is also rusted to shit and starting to sound bad, so i was looking at buschur's site and they have a sale on they're 2.5 inch ss mandrel catback system for $299... well that sounds like a great idea, however i think i want the downpipe too... and i don't have enough money yet...



my question is.... does anyone know of anything i can use to fix the flex section, like maype exhaust wrap? i dunno, or if i put just a muffler on, and get a downpipe, will it sound like shit?

What about just buying a new flex section and replace the one you have for now. Jegs or some other parts type place shold have the flex section themselves for sale.

I would work from front to back (manifold-->muffler), but that is just me.

wow... thanks bro... thats a big help.. never thought that they would have made a replacement ...


i think i'll get that flex section, and fix the downpipe, get a catback since it seems to be a deal. and then in a couple weeks get the downpipe...

oh... and another thing... will that flex section you linked me to weld up to my stock downpipe? i think the stock downpipe is 2 1/4(correct me if i'm wrong). i know a friend who is a well known body man and welder... is there a way i could have him weld the 2.5 inch flex section over top my 2 1/4 downpipe?
