Besides getting excessive oil all over the engine bay, you might run crappier too. I had a crack on my valve cover and my car ran really crappy, I don't have proof that my crack made my car slower but I can feel it. I got a used valve cover from a 1g and now my car runs better and no messy oil all over my plugs and on top of my hood.

You say the bolt is stripped? Why not just get a new bolt? save yourself the mess and future problems. If is not the bolt then is probably the valve cover, I would get a used one and some places sell em really cheap.

You just might crack the whole thing since the average person might have the tendency to tighten other bolts to compensate for the missing one. Be careful (but of course if you don't, you will leak oil and make a mess).

Is the hole stripped, or the bolt stripped. If it is the hole, then just put a helicoil in it. They can be bought at just about all parts stores. Can't remember right off hand what size the valve cover bolts were, but just take one of em with ya and they'll hook ya up!!:thumb:

Ok since the screws get scewed into the head shoud it be taped or drilled?

Before you do all that, go down to Lowes, not Homedepot, and get a slightly longer bolt. There are more threads under the length of the stock bolts, be careful not to strip it again.
