Valve cover leak.

The Lower left bolt on the top of my valve cover is leaking oil from underneath it. What can i do to fix it? Just tighten it? It hasnt been touched in forever, and i just saw it a few days ago. Thanks for the help.

Ya i have needed a gasket for a little bit. Thanks for the help. Oh when i got to tighten those bolts how much foot lbs. do i torque them to. Thanks.

I believe it's 2-3 ft/lbs, be very careful as it wont take much to do some damage.

Yep, you are correct. (24-36 inch lbs)

they were saying 24-36 INCH pounds, which is equal to 2-3 FOOT pounds.......so 2-3 foot pounds is right here..........

Do not even think of torqueing the valve cover screws. Snug them down, check for leaks a week later and re-snug if there are any.

another plug for oem gaskets.. i'm using a non oem gasket right now that basically disintegrated... i wish i remembered the brand so i could warn you guys not to use it.. it came shrinkwrapped to yellow cardboard if that helps anyone..

it was an easy fix, there just wasnt enough sealant applied when the valve cover was last put on.
