Im racing for the first time tonight... I wanted to know how to launch an a/t gsx... the car is modded nicely. Do you need to flutter the gas to keep the boost up when you wanna launch?

do NOT nutral bomb it  press your brake down and hit the gas just enough to get you out of vac, u can get a little boost if you want but your stressing alot, then whenever you get green let off the brakes and go WOT

Brake Boost - Hold the brake down while revving it to however high you want. BUT remember when u do this u build up heat in your torque converter dont sit there for like a minute and hold it. Hold it for as lil time as possible. After the race pull over and turn on your air conditioner. It turns on the fan in the engine bay and will help take care of some of the heat. Some people dont really believe it but it depends on what you wanna do. If u dont want ur torque converter slipping on you later. Pull over and let it cool down a bit. Thats my .02 cents.

Ok so I just got back from the rack. In my a/t GSX I had a 60' time of 2.8, running a 15.1 quarter. I sat at the line with the brake and the gas floored and couldnt get it to rev above 3grand. What the hell can I do to get this thing to launch closer to boost?

and I just realized... I had the thing in overdrive, I didnt realize it until now. Should overdrive be off while drag racing? I dont know much about a/t

I don't think so... it took a second for the car to kick back. I had a turbo honda and I had to flutter the gas at the line to get boost to stay up, and make sure it didnt drop. Do these cars work the same way? Dont all turbo cars behave like this? You need to pump the gas to make sure boost doesnt drop.

shouldnt... with my car anyways.

The torque converter puts the load on the engine, so you dont have to "flutter" to build boost. You just hold the gas steady as if you were just accelerating down the street like normal.
