Lambo vertical Doors [Merged 8-7]

Ebay hinges? Theres no fix. You can either cut out the inner wheel plastic and make yourself a tin patch to cover the pivot, and throw some rubberized coating on it or leave it alone. No fix for the fender. Cut it, shape it, or go for fiberglass fenders.

If you are going to be driving the car every day I would not recommend putting those hinges on your car. I love the way they look but THEY ARE NOT FOR EVERYDAY USE. Especially if you got one of the ebay kits. To be honest with you if you are going to put the hinges on and use them everyday go ahead and buy some replacement shocks because the shocks are going to die fairly quick

I have them already. I put them on one time.
I did not like them the because the door was heavy every time i opend and closed it.
I think it might have to do with the shock im not sure.

I dont have any other pictures of when I put them on. If your door is heavy, or they dont want to go up as easy as they should than the main pivot bolt is probably too tight. If their up and they stay up its too tight, if the doors are up and they fall, than the struts are bad. Try greesing your pivot bolt first, there is a greese zurk on the surrounding. Maybe even spray in some lithium greese around that area.

I also agree that these are not for everyday use. If thats what you plan on doing, weld them on and install an assistance spring to help them go up.

Also, I dont know about your area....but our area in PA the cops hassle us about these doors. Just a heads up!

Damn, with the title I figured this might be a thread about how to get hands on the 1G gullwing-style doors that were retrofitted for the (very limited) japanese market.

I looked at a few post before actually making the cuts, and there were some that said cut the whole inner strip out, and some that said slit and bend, I choose to slit and bend over tabs and after putting the fenders back on the car the fender appers to stick out wider than the body of the car also it does not go in like the door anymore. Is there any fix to this

You roll steel fneders and cut fiberglass fenders. If your fender is sticking out, its because you have a cheap fiberglass fender. Go to the bottom and trim the attachment tap back about a 1/4 inch. Glass over the attachment hole and redrill that hole back about a 1/4 inch. Reattach with a rubber and steel washer.

As for the steel fender not fitting, try realighning it. If you cannot re-alighn it, than you warped it when you rolled in the structural support. Also look to see where your door kit opens up to. They will only open so far before they hit the fender and push it out. Set it to open not as wide as well as making sure you installed the kit correctly so the fender is not hitting the articulation point.

Ok, yes it is a metal fender and I cut slits into the center off the support and bent them back it does not hit, but when closed the natural curve along the door that goes in does not line up with the fender as the fender just goes straight up and down now with little curve at all and it is the same with both fenders is there any way to fix a warped fender afture slits are cut into the structure?

Hey guys was just wondering what you guys think of Lambo Doors. I have ran out of things to do to my car. These kits are like $300 on ebay. Has anyone bought some off of ebay and if you have can you post some pics. Let me know.

I am going to be installing Lambo doors on my black 2g too... But I'm kinda skiddish about the ebay kits... If you are ok with throwing away the money (just incase) I say try it... I've seen some kits abused and the lambo doors sagged... which Is why I'm spending 600 bucks on a very Professional kit that has a 90 degree lift on it...

Like I said, if your ok with throwing the money away, just incase the parts are shit... go ahead and give a review... haha do it before I buy mine haha jp!:thumb:

Yea I cant really justify spending that much money on a set of lambo doors. Gheez $600 for a couple brackets and a pair or struts. I should learn how to make these and start selling them. LOL! I might have to try the ebay kit but it would be over winter. Anybody have pics of lambo doors and what brand name they are using?

Well, the price could mean the quality. You do get what you pay for... they could easily be destroyed... But if they are as good as any of the other stuff I've goten off ebay, they should be great.

Here's my favorite 2G! Same wheels I'm buyin too hehe...

honestly just go with a Vertical Doors Inc Kit. i know its alot more expensive but ive heard nothing but good things about them from people who actually own these kits. I myself got a cheap kit off eBay and i get problems with it all the time. in the future i will be switching over to a Vertical Doors Inc kit myself.

1700AHAHAHAHA

I'd buy from GTP... They have two kits, one is a bolt on for 700 bucks, one isn't a bolt on which is thier bad ass for 600.

Watch the video of the 600 dolor not bolt on kit... kinda sucks its not direct bolt on... but if your mechanicly inclined you could to the work to drill the holes n stuff...

I have a set of vertical doors from vertical doors inc. A friend of mine got his from ebay, and its not a bad kit, just not as good. He's had some problems with the hinges shifting, un-aligning the door after a few months. Other than that, and not being nearly as smooth, its probably good to say that their not bad for the price, but end up being a hassle. The pictures above from cardomain are an ebay kit. I Have a bunch of installation pictures and even a video I found online if you want to see them.

As for the installation of the shocks, if you don't have anyone to hold the door up for you, than do what I had to do and use a nylon strap to hold the door up while you bolt on the strut.
