Knocking on Start Up

Ok I started my car after putting the radiator and it knocked wierd for awhile. Then I shut it off and restarted it and it was fine. Did it again today, stopped after I turned it off and started it again. Anybody know what the cause of this is? Also i'm bogging a bit under acceleration, what would cause this?

Does this go away after a couple seconds after you start the car?

I had a similar problem. I couldn't figure out the problem. Then I cleaned my lifters and it never knocked on startup ever again. You might want to consider doing that.

The lifters make more of a tick tick tick sound but pretty fast, I guess it could be them so just add some seafoam to your oil then turn it on and let it run for about 10 minutes, then do an oil change. Its hard to be certain what the culprit is so next time it starts making the noise popp the hood and try to get an area where the noise is coming from to get a better picture of the problem.

If you've heard a rainbird sprinkler head thats exactly what lifter tick sounds like but faster. If its really knock, you might want to check for metal flakes in the oil pan.
