I know in the on going struggle to get rid of these 2 problems,i personally "had" the problem.I would leave lights car would be overly rich, pull timing anf get 43 knock counts, then clear out,on the highway it would start to do the same thing start lagging along, egts would go up,and the car would suck.Well my buddy is going aem stand alone and he has the car just sitting without the motor or anything in it,and he pulled out the ecu "91 awd"I checked it for the eprom which it had and swaped it.It got rid of all my problems, car woke up.

ill put it like this, with the problem i ran a friend of mine with a malibu with a 125 shot 2 weekends ago before the ecu and he got me by a car up top 3rd gear (runs 12.0s 11.9s@112 113)

and this passed saturday night just changing the ecu,i had a car and a half on him OMG

i was amazed,car drives different,on the highway,leaving lights.More responsive. :thumb:

So are you saying that by putting an eprom ecu in it clears up the problem? Did you make any tuning changes while doing the swap?

well im not saying the eprom made the difference,it might have, but i was saying in general the ecu itself.

no i didnt change anything.Im running a vpc,550s,fp sleeper 16g,95 pistons, and rewires 255.base fp 36 with vacuum line on and all the "other"suporting mods, nothing changed from those two races except my cloths LOL.

sometimes ecus could be the problem thats what im tryin to say.I searched the eprom ecu and it seams it takes aliking to more tuning just stock without the dsmchips eprom chip, which i plan on getting. :thumb:

Well, maybe I'll try that out for size. Or I could cough up the loot for an AEM.

with 1g link on its way dont waste your cash on aem ive had it is'nt that great for daily drivers. I went so far as too sell it and burn my own e-proms now.

oh and 1fast the ecu could have helped it depends alot on what map your original ecu was running there are a few so it very well could have helped :D

it def seemed to help, hey you never know.I just know from drivablity difference.
