Why do you say that? I spoke to NASA reps about this and they said the rear bumper is fine as long as it is visible and easily accessible, although within the driver's reach would be preferred (i.e. mounted on a roll cage near the driver's window).

I'm really kicking myself about cutting a hole in my bumper after finding this out. But a toggle switch or push button on the wiper cowl (driver side) would have worked better and be a lot less noticeable. It would be legal for SCCA and NASA, not NHRA, but then again this isn't the drag racing forum.

Does anyone have the Talon center section laying around that they could post up? I'm wondering if there's enough room to mount it on that lip so the switch sticks down right beside one of the license plate lights. The handle would stick out so you'd just push left/right.

In the mean time, my battery is going back under the hood for next weekend so I can pass tech. Drag races Friday nigh and AutoX Sunday.
