Hey guys I took off my power steering rack and drained all the fluid. I unhooked the column with the splines to pull the rack out. I went to turn my wheel with the acc on to see if my gauges worked, and they did. I turned the wheel all the way upside down and it locked. I cant get the key to move to acc at all now. I tried turning the wheel and everything. Any suggestions? Should i spray some graphite in there or is this really a problem? I cant move the key at all,and my steering wheel is stuck upside down.

Try pressing the button on the side of the ignition cylinder.

I actually have a similar problem. my key is stuck in the ignition. It moves freely from lock to on but it won't come out of the ignition. I've tried wiggling the steering wheel and the key but nothing. it just happened out of no where. The car use to be auto if that might be related to the problem Any advice would help, just to get the key out once so that way I make a spare and no worry about locking the car with the key in the ignition.

Edfit: the car does not have a button on the side of the ignition.

Im in the same boat as you.

My DSM is an auto and still is. I removed the factory shifter and installed a B&M ratchet shifter i n doing so I removed the safety ignition cable which I think is why the key is stuck. I'll have to remove the steering colum covers and check the ignition and see if there is a way I can rig it or disable it.
