Hello everyone I wanna know how I can get the key reminder sound back. Buzzer works fine, everything else is working headlight reminder door chime interior lights. I don’t know where I can look at to have it back.

Thank you

Does the light around the key light up?

This may be a simple as a bad door switch. There are multiple contacts in each for different functions, so the dome lights could work but not the key in/door open buzzer.

Since there are differences in various part of the car, please fill out a profile so we know if this is a 420A based GS, a 4G64 based Spyder, or maybe even a 4G63 based Euro GS DSM.

The left door switch orange wire gets grounded (to its mounting screw) for the key reminder when door is open. [The other red-green wire is for the foot light (gets grounded to its mounting screw when door is open)]. These switches often fail over time and when get dirty/corroded. Try removing switch and clean it. And test grounding those wires to test proper functionality.

So I grounded the orange wire to its mounting screw but nothing happens key reminder still not working. If I ground the red green wire the foot light works like it always works. What can I do I don’t know where I can look.

I assume you had the key in the ignition when you grounded the orange wire.

Now check engine box "Room Lamp" 10A fuse (in fact this one is very likely). It's difficult to get out: https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/1...-fuse-draining-battery.424216/#post-152856627.

Then check the interior box 10A "Gauge" fuse.

Then check the key reminder switch itself. It connects its green-yellow to the black when key is removed (so open circuit when key is present). Or perhaps someone (I did on mine) shorted the green-yellow to the black (or ground) to purposely disable the buzzer [or shorted the green-yellow pin 13 on the ETACS-ECU to ground].

Another very rare possibility would be if the ETACS-ECU is bad for that function but as I said that's pretty rare as it's working for other functions.

I’m gonna check the fuses but how can I check the key reminder switch?

I also found a cable who goes from the ignition to somewhere in the middle I think. On this cable there is 20A fuse and if I remove this one, radio, foot lights are no more working.

You mean a 20A fuse someone installed in the cable? You better see exactly where this cable is attached (what to what) because the foot lights control wire should be connected to the ETACS-ECU, not the ignition.

First make sure that "Room Lamp" fuse is good.

Then back on the key reminder switch's green-yellow wire: With everything connected, if that wire is connected to ground (eg. continuity to ground through a short, a deliberate added wire across the key reminder switch {like I did}, or a permanently closed key reminder switch), that would prevent the key reminder buzzer from working.

Thank you. I’m gonna have a look to all this and I hope it’s gonna work.

It’s an orange cable with a 20A fuse and if I remove this fuse foot light and radio are no more working. But I’m gonna look where this cable goes. Let’s see what the pre owner has done under the dash.

This orange wire with a 20A fuse where if you remove this fuse the foot light and radio no longer work: I'm assuming this is something someone obviously added correct? I'm wondering if the normal foot light operation stopped working (normally goes out after 5 seconds when either door is closed) or someone wanted it on all the time the ignition is on, so they put this wire in. And possibly where they put it interfered with the key reminder circuit. Does the foot light stay on as long as the ignition (or headlights) is on?

@luv2rallye is there a way to test the chime?

Looking at my wiring diagrams, the 2g ignition key reminder warning buzzer should sound when the key is in the ignition in the on or start position, and left door is open. So to force the buzzer on, it looks like you'd have to unplug the key reminder switch (because ETACS-ECU pin 13 must be open), key in On position, and left door open.

Hello everyone I wanna know how I can get the key reminder sound back. Buzzer works fine,

Which buzzer is that?

Ok I looked at the diagrams again and I see a rare possibility. I see your picture has the suspect wire (red-white) connected to a red-yellow wire going near the ignition.

The key reminder switch has a red-yellow which connects to a black-blue when the key is removed. This is to provide signal power to the factory theft alarm starter relay (for it to work properly) and power to the central door locking system.

(1) Now if the key reminder switch function that connects the red-yellow to the black-blue didn't work and you didn't want to (or couldn't) replace that switch, you'd have to provide the power some other way. The wire you have would do this (and the red wire going to the fuse is the power).

(2) Or the engine fusebox "Room Lamp" 10A fuse (which provides power to the red-yellow through the Junction Block) isn't working but someone couldn't figure this out (which people all the time are notorious for not checking because on the USA versions that fuse is covered by a difficult to remove cage).

Okay I’m gonna take a look to this. Could it be that this was done by purpose because my car don’t have anti-theft anymore just has immobilizer because I can’t start the car if I use an other key without the chip in the key.
Room lamp fuse looks fine.

Okay and what are the solutions to get the key reminder back because I’m afraid that afterwards the car won't start anymore.

Yes, very definitely and that's most likely the reason.
Just curious: Why does your location say Luxembourg, Idaho? Are you in Idaho, USA or the country Luxembourg, or ???

I live in Luxembourg and when I made my account I must add something but yeah I am from Luxembourg :)
