Hey guys, recently got my 98 gst spyder back up and running but not in a conventional way, whenever I go into the car and turn the key to start the car, it doesn’t do anything but click, so I made a wire from the starter to the positive terminal of the battery and that cranks it over just fine and thats how we drove it after two years of sitting back to my house but still cant seem to find out why the key isn't engaging the starter to crank over the car, can anyone help me to try to find out what it could be/how to fix it?

Try unplugging the clutch switch. It’s the one closest to the firewall. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to check why the starter isn’t getting the signals from the ignition.

If it's not the clutch position switch or the starter relay under the dash there is 1 wire connector between the starter harness and the main harness. it's located behind and below the thermostat housing. THis wire carries the start signal from the starter relay to the starter. Make sure it's plugged in or the wire isn't broken.
