key code

OK I have a 1992 Plymouth Laser RS. I was wondering if there was any way to get the key code for the car. I tried the dealership with title in hand and no luck due to the car being too old and not in the data base any more. I have called a lock smith and he said he could come out to the car and make a key for it, but it would cost me 100 plus. Any other options that are cheaper or ways to get a key code? Is it stamped anywhere on the car? Thanks

Try Chrysler dealerships. Or mitsu ones. The one around here really helped me out in a situation like this. It would only be read by vin.

Do you have the old key? There should be a key code on the key itself.

If not I would go the locksmith route. Or never lock your doors again like me xD

Tried both dealer ships Mitsu can't look it up cause it is under the Plymouth label, and Chrysler can look it up but when they do it gives them a N/A because it is too old and not in the data base any more. I do not have a key at all. Looks like i'm going to have to go the lock smith route....
