Hey I don't think I have posted here before, but I usually come here when I need some specific info. Let me start off and say that I replaced my bottom end(1gnt) with a 2g(t) and need know if tranny plate(dust cover?) in the pictures matters if it has the gap? If not then I suppose I could just bolt up my 1gnt manual tranny to the 2gt block.

The first picture is the 2g block with the clutch/flywheel/plate on

Second picture is the 1g block stripped

this is the first person I have seen swap to a 2g 7bolt block,

looks like the plate is made for the 1g block?

I would say find a 1g bottom end, you just regressive modified your car.

I must decline on finding a 1g bottom end atleast for now because I'm not in dire need for the car... and I do like to do things diff ... and its from a 99 eclipse. How about I get a 2g plate? would that solve my problems?

And when you say I "regressive modified my car" ... I need some explanation not of what it means because it means that I have made it worse than before ...

2g block imo is inferior to 1g block, crank runout issues and all. no reason to beat a dead horse just do a search.

and yeah i would get a 2g inpescion plate, surly wouldnt leave the gap there

honestly though ive never swapped a 7bolt into a 6bolt car there may be someone somewhere that has better expierence with it, ive but a 6bolt in a 2g but not vice versa. I knew a messican that claimed he did it once trying to impress me.

Well I'm not worried about the whole "crank walk" because if it happens when I get back from Iraq I'll just buy another fully built engine ... I just need something for now to play with until I leave or until it breaks ...
