Just ordered ACT 2900 kit...very confused

So the "old" way of talking about ACT clutches is by the force of the pressure plate in lbs. or the designations "2100", "2600", "2900", and "3200". However ACT also has model names for their kits such as "MB1-XTSS". The first three figures state the make of the vehicle, e.g. "MB1" for my 1990 Eagle Talon AWD turbo. Then the last two letters are for the disc type such as "SS" for street disc, "R4" or "R6" for 4 puck and 6 puck discs, respectively. Then the two letters left over are the "XT". This signifies the pressure plate type. There are a few: "HD" for heavy duty, "XT" for xtreme, and "XX" for Maxx Xtreme.

Okay, here is my dilemma. I just called a site sponsor/vendor to order an ACT "2900" clutch kit with a street disc which I thought was the MB1-XTSS. However, I was told that the 2900 kit is the MB1-XXSS kit.

Which one is it and did I order the right kit? Thanks!

the "Xtreme" is the 2600, iv got one sitting next to me, so if you ordred the "XT", then you did infact oorder yourself a 2600. the 2900 is the maxx extreme.

dont know what company you ordered that from, but everywhere i looked for mine at had then listed by the pressure plates clamping force rating, ie. 2600, ect

Okay, good, the MB1-XXSS is the one I ordered so I did get the 2900. Whew! Thanks!

The 2900 pp with a street disc is not offered from ACT is a kit. You have to order the pp and disc by themselves. Vendors will sell them together, but they didn't order them as a kit. At least this is what my 04 act catalog and act rep said.
