Like the title says.

Just ordered 18x7.5 wheels with 42mm offset. Also getting a set of estca 712s at 235/40.

My car is lowered approx 1.5 inches. Been reading other posts here and from dsmtalk and the only thing i could find was a post where someone has similar sizes and offset and needed 3mm spacers. I guess tire brand can also play an issue where different brands vary in the actual width of their 235s.

Anyone know if it will be a tight fit or will i have issues? I know i can make the 235s work with spacers, rolling the fenders, or that suspension flange thing i read in vfaq. Should i just call the place up and tell them to go with 225s instead?

thanks.

I used to have 235/45/17 712s on a +40 offset on a 2G. You will probably be fine, since the rear knuckle curls over, so your shorter tire to give you room.

If your rear upper arms are spaced outwards, then you'll probably have to roll the fender lips.

Update:

Go the wheels and rims put on with no real issues. It is a close fit with a couple millimeters of space between the wheel and suspension in the rear.

The rear fenders are the only issue and must be rolled if i want to keep it at the current lowered stance. I tried rolling it a little, but the bar thing i used to roll it is too small in diameter to make the rubbing completely disappear. So for the moment, i raised the rear suspension and made it stiff as hell. It is only rubbing on big bumps or hard turns.

Rolling the fenders sucked, paint flaked a bit on the inner fender.....Not like its noticeable at all, but will have to be touched up.

The front doesn't seem to have any issues. full clearance from lock to lock.

I'll try an throw some pictures up later tonight.

edit: forgot to mention, weighted the new wheels+tires against the stock 16's and crappy all seasonals, only 3 lbs difference, new = 41.25 lbs, old = 38 lbs

Warm the fender with a heat gun or hair dryer to prevent the paint from flaking.
