Just got home from the track :D

Well I just got home from Rocky Mountain Raceway in Magna Utah. After being a really long week of stress and bs, I was happy to be able to go lay some rubber on the track. It's been the first time since I've been to the track since last season. I just wanted to recap a little bit of today's events so bare with me.

This is my last year's best time. I couldn't figure out my launch issues and I couldn't get a decent 60' to save my life. I was on about 17-18 psi.

Well here is my first run after doing a little bit of tuning, switching out my crappy boost gauge with a new Autometer and leaning it out a tad. Also only boosting about 15psi these runs.

Snapped a 14.0 first race of the season! I was stoked! couldn't believe how much improvement was made with a simple tune and some launch control.

Well here's my second run of the season, only changing a few little things here and there to get rid of some knock.

Woo! 13's! To be completely honest this was my goal for this whole season, I didn't think I'd make a 13 pass till at least half way into drag season. I was so pumped and excited the guy handing out the tickets was like nice job man! Lol I felt good to say the least.

congrats. You can easily cut better 60' times though. Keep practicing and better times are there with the your setup now.

Thanks guys! I still have some improving to do. I'm going to start looking into end clutches and see what I come up with. I also have a throttle body boost leak I need to take care of before I go race again.

Wow that's very good! Congrats. Maybe you mentioned it already, but what kind of tires?

Wait launch control on an auto? I thought that was a no no, and generally lowered the amount of boost your able to build on the brakes?

Great start to the new season anyway.

I shouldn't have said launch control I knew that would come back and bite me. I just meant getting more control of my launch and actually figuring out why I couldn't get a decent one last year. Also I'm on some good year all season tires

O my bad. I get ya, just better at controlling the launch. Those are nice times on pretty low boost. How many lbs are able to make on the line? Pretty anxious to take my auto out for the first time this year.

Plan on upping the boost soon? It looks like you have the mods to do so.

Yeah I need make some changes and fix a boost leak and fix little things here and there, I'll try and be at about 18-20 by the end of the season and see what happens then.

I'd build about 13psi off the line in about 4-5 seconds. Honestly longer then I wanted to wait but I'll see if I can cut that down to about 2 seconds and build 15 or more Psi off the line, that should cut my 60' down to at the most 1.8.

good times! i have an auto also and the first thing that took a while to get used to was standing starts... the car always wants to overide the brakes unless you literally crush the brake pedal!

Exactly! I've looked into staging brakes but with this car being my DD, I don't want to do anything like that just yet. I had to use my E-brake to stage or else I would have red lighted for sure. It starts creeping almost instantly after I push the gas.
