every thing going good so i give car a tune-up and know it won't start. the batt. is new and and change the plug wires and now the car won't start.mabe i didn't put in the plug wires right if i did will it start. i also cleaned the batt. man some please help

I would double check the gaps on the plugs as well as the plug wire routing. If all you did was plugs and wires then that's got to be where your problem is unless you managed to break something else in the process.

so if the plugs are gaped wrong it won't start man please help moms going to kick my ass if i can't get to start.

Correct. If they are too far apart or too close together then the spark isn't proper. On the non-turbo plugs, the gap is about 0.050". Most of the plugs are actually gapped properly out of the box. But because you don't know how many times the plugs were dropped you will need to recheck them. I don't know what the gap is for a turbo application but if you get it to about 0.040" that will be good enough to run and you can find out what they are supposed to be at after you get it running. Most of the time though the plugs are close enough which really makes me think it's possibly spark plug wire routing.

make the car not start? Is it turning over? Have you checked the wires? I can't see how anyone gets the wires screwed up. If they're connected correctly they'll only route one way. Double check that, and tell us what all you took off or were trying to change. Just the wires and plugs? Anything else we should know about?

my cousin told me to gap them at 0.32 so thats what i did. the car won't even turn over from what i was told it was either 2 things starter or the coil whent bad. all i did was give my car a damn tune-up shit should not be this hard.

ok. This is probably what I should have asked at the start of this. (like 1990CherryTSI was asking) When you say it doesn't start... do you mean the engine will not turn over while you hold the key in the on position? OR do you mean that the starter engages and turns the engine but it will not fire and run?
