So I had grey interior and am in the middle of recoloring to all black. I used the SEM color coat system and it is excellent. Keep in mind there are 4 steps to this system and about 5 different products needed in order to do it complete so it lasts.

Did the following process:

1. SEM soap and grey scotchbrite to clean surface.
2. Plastic and Leather prep to final clean the surface.
3. 2 coats of SEM plastic adhesion promotor.
4. 3 coats of SEM colorcoat Landau Black

I also remove all the fabric from the door panels and refoamed and applied black suede to the panels. Pretty much impossible to get all the wrinkles out of the suede because of the compound curves and I couldn't get it to stretch enough, but its not very noticeable since the texture of the suede hides it alot. Here are some before and afters.

Color Coat Chip Card

Its kinda trippy because its not a dye and not really a paint either. You need to use the plastic and vinyl prep's before because they open up the pores and help the adhesion of the product. It goes on in very light coats but when it dries it has excellent coverage and doesn't look like a coating, rather like it just absorbed into the surface.

Same stuff I used. Looks almost identical to oem. And after a year it still looks as good as the day I painted it.

Kyle, Did you use all the prep stuff I did as well? After 2 hours i couldn't even rub the stuff off when I tried hard to see if i could pick or scrub it off. It says 24 hours to cure so i figure i did the prep good if after 2 hours i couldn't get the stuff off. My car is garaged about 98% of the time, I only drive it a couple times a month so I'm hoping this will last forever as I don't want to pull the panels again. Good to hear someone else having good results after a long period of time.

Not bad. I recovered my sunvisors in black cloth about a month ago. Turned out pretty good for a first attempt. Looks good though. You doing your entire interior? Any other spots getting suede?

Carlz,

Did you have any wrinkles in your fabric? This particular suede I used had NO flex or stretch to it and there was nothing I could do to get it 100% flat. Looks nice BTW

Spyder,

Yes the whole interior is going to be black. Also I am doing new seats, new carpet, new headliner, sound deadening over the entire car, etc.

On the rest of the car I don't believe anymore suede will be used. I was thinking on the arm rest would be cool, but it will wear badly there and that might have some issues in the future. I might possibly have the middle of the seats done in the suede as well but then again comes the wear issue. We will see but no other areas that could really use the suede that i can think of.

As in the sem stuff? Nope

Just washed everything really good then wiped it down with some with some mineral spirits and painted them. Gave everything about 4-6 coats. The only spot were I noticed a little paint rubbing off is on the door near the speaker from people accidentally kicking/rubbing their foot on the door when getting in/out.

I had one minor wrinkle, about 1/3 of the way up on the left side in that picture you can kinda see it. Same thing happened on my other door panel as well. There was definitely some flex in the stuff I used, and my foam was 1/4" thick underneath. Thanks!

WOW! Thanks for posting this, I didn't know a product like this existed. It looks like I can halt my search for black door cards and just paint/stain my stockers instead!

I like this as well. before i attempt it i need to find the plastic door handle insert and the plastic trim around the door handles. Mine are all cracked up from the idiot who had it before me not knowing how to take them up and apperently not knowing about DSMTuners or Youtube... But I digress.

How did you reapolster your sun visors? I am lookng at redoing my head liner and wanted my sun visors to match.

Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.
