so i just did a compression test on my GSX on saturday with disappointing yet confusing results ..i bought this car and only came with the block and drive train.Part of the deal was i let the seller keep the head. Well i later bought a head for this block to get the car running.. The previous owner stated that it over heated and blew the head gasket that why it didnt run

well i bought a new head gasket put the head on and torque everything to spec.
the results were:

#1= 35
#2=50
#3=75
#4 =115

now what could this mean. The rings are fried?.. the head is bad?

thanks any input would be great

ya place a cap full of oil into the spark plug holes, sometimes when an engine block sits, the rings get all crappd up, go ahead and put some in each cylinder and then turn the motor over for about 10 seconds, then try the compression test again

i got a block like this, the thing was sitting for 2 years and i almost gave up on it, put a little oil in the cylinders and she reseated the rings and is running strong

Did you do this with the car up to temp, at WOT, and with good voltage to the battery?

If so, do a leakdown test.

thing is the car has been down for a 2 months ..maybe even longer! ..i dont know truely the condition of the block or the head .. i cant gett it to crank over ### im missing the CAS sensor for the head..so what i really wanted was to check if compression was good to then take the next step and finsih putting it all together,

You bought a car that didn't run and DIDN'T assume it was broken, that's a mistake. The thing's apart, built it right from the beginning.
