just bought my project 2g gst any ideas for road racing

whats up guys i just bought my new project 2g gst 4g63. i will be
using it for road racing scca,fara usa,nasa ext. looking for some ideas.
so shoot me as many as you guys can im new to the hole dsm world my grandfather (arrowhead) just got me into the dsm world im in love with my new 2g gst.

Glad your enjoying your new GST man, there is definitely a challenge when it comes to building a FWD race car, but for anyone who likes a challenge and wants to push the limits of physics you could not have picked a better car IMO. I love my GST and i'm not just saying that... I could of had any GSX i wanted. I've owned an Evo in the past so i am familiar with AWD. Never had a FWD car in my life, have always liked the look of 2G's, so i decided to give it a whirl with the GST. I say go for it man, so many people will say it's not worth it to build a fwd or it's not "as good" .... Well, to me that's motivation to build it! When it comes to cars i like doing things that most people are unwilling to do. Makes it interesting and the journey fun.

Anyway, i'd check out Andrew Brilliants 97 GST.... Do a google search, plenty of articles and videos on youtube. They fixed that boy up into a mean time attack monster let me tell you. Allot of engineering went into that car and it is a spyder none the less! So, they also had all the drop-top naysayers they had to put up with too. But it has set records and beat the tar out of many RWD and AWD competitors.

Improvements to your suspension setup should be your number one priority. Don't skimp on things like shocks, tires, etc. Do LOTS of research. Here's a few reads to get you started.

Aim for a broad power band. Making power in a DSM is easy. Making that power useful in a FWD isn't so easy.

thanks Laterz im going for it . i will start striping the car next week it will be mostly made out of
fiber glass the roof, doors, the back hach, fenders, hood ext. what do recommand me on the suspension.

Don't forget to add some performance after your suspension upgrades maybe a 16g or20 turbo to start out with. I drive 2g gst and your biggest challenge is keeping traction.

In a 2g pretty much your owner under the radar turbo you can run is a t-28.

I am facing the suspension issue with my 1g, most aftermarket shock and spring setups are junk I wish I had the money for a nice set of fully adjustable coilovers such as d2. But suspension is most definitely key with these cars

Here's the first thing you need to do to mod your gst for a good road race car:

transmission
transfer case
driver side hanger bearing and axel
rear subframe
rear end preferably lsd version
drive shaft
drive shaft hanger bearing mounts off donor car
awd gas tank
awd exhaust
Flywheel

POOF...it's called an AWD swap...great mod for your GST

After than your next mod should be wondering why you didnt just build the donor car you used to source the parts for your swap
