Hey guys, I've got a Laser RS Turbo that I just picked up and it's in trouble.

When I bought it the exhaust was off, and the guys I bought it from said it was because they put a new turbo in it and didn't have time to bolt it up. bs... but I got it anyways because it ran fine.

So I bolt the exhaust up and it won't start... Take the exhaust off and theres an exhaust turbine jammed in the cat. AWESOME! so destroyed the old turbo...

Now all of a sudden I'm not getting any boost... and the lever attaching the wastegate to the actuator (mounted on turbo) is disconnected... and the actuator is frozen solid.

The turbo that's on it looks good, I'm wondering if disconnecting the wastegate actuator is causing it to stay all the way open or all the way closed since I'm getting ZERO boost.

oh yeah, the radiator is cracked and it over heats... good stuff huh?

I'm new to turbo setups, so if anyone can give me some ideas I'd really appreciate it.

The actuator arm not being connected is the reason your getting no boost, without it on the flapper blows open right away thus not allowing the turbo to build any boost. Happened to me with ym old 1G, pop it back on and you will be fine.

well i took the whole turbo/manifold off to see if the turbo was in good condition... so I'll bolt it up tomorrow and give that a try!

Is there some sort of clip or pin that is supposed to keep that arm connected?

thanks alot btw!

oh yeah... that actuator that was disconnected... should i be able to open/close it by hand?

What I mean is, it's completely frozen as far as I can tell... I can't move it at all by hand... but the vacuum lines are disconnected to it.

Also, it doesn't really reach all the way to the lever that controls the flap on the turbo.... I tried pulling it to extend so it would connect and its just won't budge.
