Just Bought an AF/X ECU

So there's no other ECU that's better than AF/X ? By better I mean, easier to install and how easy it is to tune?
Lol, um, how easy do you want it? You take the old ecu out (what's that, two connectors and and maybe 4 bolts that you don't have to crawl in or twist your body to get to) and bolt the AFX ECU in. Done.

There is no tuning the AFX. It's "self tuning".

So to answer your question (with your criteria); no.

If I could give you a penny for every answer I've read by you, you'd have a lot of pennys! Thanks man

Somewhere (either on here or on 2gnt.com) I did a dyno sheet comparison between MSnS and the AFX ECU on one of my set-ups. My MSnS was professionally tuned by a top tuner for MSnS. The comparison was pretty interesting. I had a slightly better curve and a slightly better peak on the MSnS, but other than that, they were pert-near right on to each other.

was this done on a stock engine? i wonder how much HP can be squeezed out of an otherwise stock engine by the af/x.

reason why i ask is my current car has cai and full exhaust (headers on back) but the engine itself is stock as they come. wondering if it would be a good investment to now, or wait until after i start adding supporting mods.

reliable DD is my main goal performance wise, so turbo probably wont happen. already did that once and got it out of my system. but a little more HP that wont sacrifice reliability sounds good. just not convinced i want to spend $540 until i know how much it will improve the stock engine.

I only gained 2whp by adding an SAFC to my afx to show you how good of a tune it gives. I believe they did show a graph a long time ago of a stock car, it gained around 7-10whp. Its a solid mod all around and will continue to give as you mod your car further
ill buy it off u!:D
Sadly I think I will hold onto it for another year before I upgrade to MS for financial reasons

It actually only took me a month or two to get mine from howell, I was impressed (never received the core charge though) As for MS, I'm not sure yet, but like I said, I have a whole year to plan it :p

Cool. If you have never soldered before it might be a good idea to get some small projects this year to practice if you want to build your own board. Didn't mean to get so far off topic sorry guys.
