I just bought a one owner 1990 Eclipse GST w/90k on it. Nothing has ever been modded on it and besides some clear coat peel it in great condition! Now my question is...how can I bring this cool car to a little more of it's actual potential? I'm just talking street performance so nothing major. I just don't have a clue about turbo's since I've never owned one! What are some good things to start out with?

fuel pump, i cant stress this enough. that should be the first modification in my opinion.
A walbro 190 would be a good pump, if you dont plan on heavy modifications. I would also consider basic tune up(sparkplugs, wires, oilchange, air filter, fuel filter), and I would look into doing the timing belt/waterpump replacement if it hasnt been done recently. Be sure not to forget the Balance shaft belt(some mechanics will ignore it for some reason or another).

Goodluck!

Visit the upgrade paths thats a good start, but always check and repair maintenaince as needed first.:dsm:

Change all fluids, spark plugs & wires, boost leak test, compression test and a nice wash and interior cleaning. Leave it stock.

I appreciate all the input guys! Luckily in MO they don't do emmissions on 95 and older anymore! :thumb: It does have one problem though...it seems to be a little hard to get through the gears. Almost like it 's catching on something. Is this a common problem?

bleed ## clutch and see if it hooks better. as far as what to do first i say do all the maintinance and then drive it a while to find out any problems. i recomend doing a timing belt just to be on the safe side.
