1G jumped time

ok so I got a 90 gsx drove it for 2 days after checking all the hoses and everything I could see the only thing I didnt get to check was the timing belt so I go down the road about 10 miles fom my house and had it towed back in tore it apart and the timing belt had stripped
son now I have bent valves. I bought another head and put it on.this head was from a non turbo car so I swaped cams and put the head on the car set the timing bumped the starter and again the crank rotated and stripped teeth of the timing belt again the cams didnt move. what would cause the crank to rotate and the cams not to? everyting was torqued to spec. and I cant figure it out HELP PLEASE

I assume you replaced the T-Belt and auto-tensioner, and set the proper preload this time around?

Also did you happen to check that the tensioner and idler pulleys were not siezed?

You did get the cam tower caps back on in order, didnt you? If you dont the cams will be very hard to turn. Let us also hope you used assembly lube.

Besides being in order, did you use the same caps from the same head?

no I was told Id have to use the ones from the turbo head

Did you try rotating the crank with a wrench before you started it? If not, you should have. Follow the Vfaq above, and make sure you did not over-torque the cam caps.

The cam caps are fitted to the head and position. You can't swap them around.
The cams on the other hand are interchangable from engine to engine.

You were told wrong, same caps always stay with the same head like steve said.

Ok got that taken care of and it worked.but now after I got the timing belt back on all it wants to do is turn over ank not start. what could cause that

Do a compression test and/or leakdown test. Depending on how many teeth the timing belt jumped last, it may have bent some valves. Also tripple check and make sure ALL of the timing marks line up. And are you getting fuel and spark?

ok I replaced the head and compression is good.spark is really really weak though
but the car started 3 days ago
