I have a small 16g and need to put on my hallman mbc, my Jpipe has no nipple. So can I just drill a hole and tap it for a fitting? and should I take it off to do so because of the metal shavings?

Thanks

take it off. When dealing with metal shavings you want to keep them out of your engine. Spend the 5 extra minutes. Why even risk it on something so simple.

"Why even risk it" is usually the answer to most of my own common sense questions.

Good luck.

Or you can use a 1/8'' to 1/2'' step drill, drill, and tap set. I bought mine at ace hardware store. Buy a 1/8'' NPT vacuum fitting. Drill and tap j pipe. Then thread fitting into hole. I used loctite blue threadlocker on threads for a good seal. It helps to put pipe in a vise so you can drill straight.

having the nipple on the j pipe allows your boost controller to work the best, you want your vacuum lines as short as possible for the controller

I disagree. Ive used the pressure source from multiple locations and noticed no difference. I used to manufacture the contollers for FFWD and we included a T to tap that line.
