i just replaced my jpipe with the one extreme psi sells. I tapped it for the boost source, but the way the pipe bends. I was wondering how i can get it to bolt up to the compressor housing. I can get the one side bolted to the fact thats rele close to the exhaust manifold, so if anyone has an idea how please let me know. The reason i replaced it is because i didnt like fact that one of the pipes went over the exhaust manifold.

I'm assuming you are referring to the allen head bolt on the inside radius of the bend? At least that is what gave me problems when I installed my j-pipe. All I did was use a hack saw to cut down the allen wrench so that it fit underneath the piping. Not sure if that makes perfect sense but if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

lucky you, i had to go to homedepot to get them, i was in need of the jpipe and ordered it late at nite so, i couldnt find them online and it was to late to call. I didnt think of doing that but that seems like it may be a pain in the butt to do that. But at this point i am willing to try anything. I need this car back on the road, had to reroute my intercooler piping. Front mounts suck LOL. But i guess they serve there purpose. I just hate have to make stuff work. But i am getting better since i've owned my dsm.

Haha, well for me that was actually one of the easiest parts since I had to custom fab just about everything. Good luck though. :)

OK i got the jpipe on, i am wondering if i can use blue rtv permatex as a gasket, i was thinking about just going around the edge on the jpipe and compressor housing, But the only thing i am worried about is it going to hole 17.5psi and i was thinking about going to around 20+ plus psi. Also will it be resistant to the exhaust temps that will be under that hood.

Permatex Ultra silicones were developed to meet today's technology changes. Sensor-safe, low odor, non-corrosive. Outstanding oil resistance and joint movement values. Eight times more flexible than cork/composite gaskets; three times more oil resistant than conventional silicones. Temperature range -75°F to 500°F intermittent; resists auto and shop fluids and vibration.

I got this from a site, that sold the stuff. Since its not going to be on the exhaust manifold but a lil close to it, i thik it should be ok. But let me know what you think. I know the exhaust manfiold gets about that if not more. But since its far way and the fan is right there i think i should be ok. I just dont want no boost leaks. Also i miss driving it, i miss the boost.

Over the years I have used blue, copper and grey (whatever I had near and available at the time) on the j-pipe flange. Boosting 18-20 psi and have never had a problem.

From my experience, as long as there are no pre-turbo exhaust leaks not too much heat gets transferred to the compressor side of the turbo. At least not the kind of extreme heat that would cause the RTV silicone to breakdwon and fail.

You should be fine.:thumb:
