i am in the middle of installing my joe p mbc i just got today. i unhooked the bcs and removed it, now i need to know what to do next. cap off the compressor housing (t-25) and run the vac line to the wga? is that right?

Run the line from the compressor housing, into the boost controller. Then from the boost controller, into the waste gate actuator.

Yes.

1. Run the compressor to the nipple in-line but opposite to the adjustment knob of the JoeP.

2. Run the bottom nipple of the mbc to the actuator. The shorter the hoses the better.

3. Remove both hoses at the bcs, cap off the bcs in case if if you want to re-use it. Keep the bcs plugged in so you don't throw a CEL.

4. Cap off the nipple at the intake pipe that the bcs was connected to.

5. Turn the adjustment knob all the way out and test run. :rocks:

uh-oh i already put the "in" on the line that runs from the bov to the intake manifold. like this. does it make a difference?

Doing it off the manifold and compressor housing is a little bit of a trade-off. Using the compressor housing tends to make the boost controller "react" more quickly to boost changes and tends to limit boost spike a bit more.

However, the MBC connected to the intake manifold seems to stay more consistent with the boost gauge that is tapped off of the intake manifold (with the exception of possibly increased spike). Perhaps this could be attributed to boost leaks between the turbo and manifold however. For small boost leak situations and by some effects of the IC there will be a pressure differential between the compressor housing and the manifold.

Additionally the "tee" and MBC boost/vacuum source could cause some slight issues with BOV actuation, but normall the problems are small. Personally I like a dedicated line to my BOV.

thats good! would it make much of a difference if i had put it on the compressor housing? i have everything else hooked up and im going for a test drive now. thanks alot for all your help :rocks:

No, it will not make much of a difference because you will be adjusting the mbc according to the boost gauge anyway. The only time it will make a difference is if you have boost leaks, taping off the compressor will help prevent over boosting the turbo due to leaks.
