ok i just recently did this swap first of all you need to make all three of the brackets for the mounts. on a first gen car the front and rear mount bolted to the engine and on the 2g they bolted to the trans therefore leaving no place to bolt a 1g tranny in the car. I made the front and rear brackets from 3/8" flat stock steel and the passenger side mount was tricky you have to take the bracket that mounts to the tranny cut it in half and weld it to the 1g mount that bolts to the side of the engine bay then to fit the slave cylinder in you have to take a ball peen hammer to the crossmember and massage it a little and i used a ss braided clutch line also, other than that you need to swap the vss from the 2g considering its electric and the 1g is cable i have pics but there on a disc at the shop i will post them for you tommorow if you have any other questions let me know. oh yeah you have to use a 1g x-fer case also

hey guys, i'm thinking of doing this swap as well, i was curious about where you attached your new mounts, to the engine or the tranny it self? i mean did you go to the stock 1g location on the motor or did you attach it to the tranny somehow?

Where, and how much do you get one of those transfer cases for? Are they sturdy? IE will they hold up to racing?
