JDM galant vr-4 transmisiion

hey fellows i just wanted to know if all transmission from the us or japan are all the same and use the same clutch with the same spline count...i just bought a clutch kit for it and was wondering if i was going to have any fitting problem with the JDM trans ...let me know...

Uh...they should be,...the easiest way to test is to just slide your friction disk on to the new tranny's input shaft.. if it fits you're OK!

well the JDM engine i have is from a galant VR-4 with the big 16g and 510cc injectors stock...and my car is all wheel drive ...

Im pretty sure they should be the same except for the transfer case may be different. hopefully your tranny came with the tcase!

yeah i got the transfer case with the motor and transmission ...that mated right up with the diff to the rear no problem... i just nebver changed the clutch on the motor yet...

Yes, they fit just like the USDM one's. I have a VR4 switchable trans and everything is the same.

Did any of the jdm VR-4 come with a 7 bolt or are they all 6 bolts ...

Make sure that your final drive gear has 58 teeth or else you will have problems. You can read the transmission code and you can look up the final drive gear ratio. I broke my driveshaft from slow driving with my vr4 transmission. The code for mine is WQNK. GL

I have been very lucky. I have had three of them. One is in my car, I have one stuck away and I have sold one. I still have one switchable t case too........
