I'll say. Seems to me that they've had a knack and the good sense to ....study.... others' designs, and fix the mistakes. Their mindset with fighter planes in WWII is a good example- Mitsubishi's Zero was driving us nuts until we lucked across the damaged one in the Aleutians.
After years with my 2000, I got a firm smack-to-the-head the first time I had the hood up on a Mercedes 190.
Of course, another advantage they have over much of the rest of the world is the way their business world is structured. Nothing like anti-trust nor anti-monopoly hurdles in the way. But I don't know if you could get another culture to support itself in the same way.

I wonder if they have a movie in japan that one of the main characters goes, "if you really need the parts fo ryour eclipse, we'll get em overnight from the US"

For example, we have RS, GS, GS-T, GSX here but in Japan we only have GS, GSR-4.
GS is a U.S. version of GS-T and GSR-4 is U.S. version of GSX. Just like we call 3000GT VR-4 here, in japan it is Eclipse GSR-4 not GSX.
And so the Spec is also diffrents due to the restriction difference...(diffrent intake & exhaust manifolds, throttle body, etc)
The GSR-4 has stock 240HP, 225TORQUE stock instead of GSX's 210HP, 215TORQUE stock.
Much simular to Lancer Evolutions' engine in Japan.
Basicly it is the same engine as U.S. GSX but diffrent tuned with diffrent parts under diffrent restriction.
Thanks. (You thought GSR was only for Integras? very funny...LOLz)"

where can i get one of these ??

Heres are some things I know.

Europe.
1gs were sold here, in 92 but came as flip up lights.
2gs were sold with both the happy face front facia and the 97+ front facia
The end of the tailights on the 1g and 2g were both amber. In Europe ALL turn signals must be this color. That law no longer applies.
All DSMs were N/T
The 2g had a N/T 4G63, instead of the 420A.
Europe wasn't that lucky for getting the EVO's, hope you got 80,000. However UK were vastly cheapers
An EVO VI here cost more then an EVO VIII in the states.

Japan.
As far as I know all the DSMs came with the same Hp ratings. I don't remember them saying they come with 240 Hp, maybe 240 PS. Which is closer to 210 hp.
