jbweld pin hole leak on smim

There is letterly a pin hole leak on my jmf smim around were the pipe is welded to the intake manifold flange, can i jb weld this, i am running 20 psi of boost

I would personally reweld it. jb weld is for welding stuff. I would not use it to fill a hole or to plug something.

Or you can try it and see what happens.

What do you mean that jb weld is used for welding stuff? IT would be far better at filling a hole or crack than actually holding something together.

It might work, it might not. If the weld it cracked than chances are that it will not. If there is just a small pinhole than it will probably work pretty good.

Yes, you can jb weld it. Jbweld is a helpful and cheap way to fix leaks etc. I always keep a tube handy.

Had a pinhole leak in a weld on a new dejon pipe, they told me I could send it back or use jb weld. I was in a hurry to get it running so a tiny smear of jb weld took care of it.

Thanks guys, i traced the leak to a tiny hole were the intake manifold had just been re welded do to a crack from the previous user of the manifold running lots of boost, it looks like the welder may have just missed the very tip of the crack so im going to try to jbweld it now and see how it does, also i have a boost leak at my throttle body gasket, should i get a new gasket and rtv as well? Thanks

Ensure both sides are flat on the throttlebody and (especially) the IM and get a new gasket. You can use RTV or a gasket, not both.

JB weld will work great if the area will not flex. If it is a weld area and in a corner it may flex. This flexing maybe the reason it has a crack to start with. In this case the JB weld will hold until the area starts flexing again. If you have a have a hole in something then JB weld is great. If it is a crack then you may neet to acutally fix the crack for a long term solution.

BTW, I had a friend with a turbo impulse that had a broken radiator. The coller that the coolent hose attached to was busted off. Could not find a plastic radiator for the car. We JB welded the coller back on and it lasted 4 yrs.
